Turkey has close to 100 universities, and around 10 of those are ranked in the QS ranking of top 500 universities. The universities of Turkey that are in the top 500 QS list are:-
Middle East Technical University
Istanbul Technical University
The universities in Turkey follow the exact American system, which is based on two semesters per year. All undergraduate degrees are of 04 years duration and masters takes two years. Admission at the undergraduate level is based on Turkey’s own entrance test called the YOS, or alternatively students can appear in the international SAT exam. There is no test requirement at the Graduate level, though some universities ask for the GRE / GMAT exam and TOEFL.
The tuition fee of universities in Turkey are much lower compared to universities in UK, USA or Australia. Tuition fees range from US$2000 to US$12000 per year . Living expenses are also on the lower side and around US$400 per month are enough for a single student with shared accommodation.
METU (Middle Eastern Technical University)
METU is one of the largest and most famous universities of Turkey with a campus in Ankara and also a campus in Cypress. It is very cheap and tuition fee is only $2000 per year, which is close to what Universities in Pakistan cost. However the standard of education is really good and medium of instruction is English. I would highly recommend METU to any Pakistani student who wishes to get a good education at a very low and cheap cost. METU has around 23,000 students with a very large population of international students including a lot of Pakistanis. METU is ranked as the second best university of Turkey.
